Nurburgring Charity Challenge 2016/17
JustGiving - Sponsor me now!
Its all change with my Charity Challenge car. I am now preparing a 2002 BMW 330 Ci M Sport Coupe for the next round of challenges at the Nurburgring and Spa Francochamps.

I am continuing to raise money and awareness for Motor Neurone Disease (MND/ALS) research.

Thanks to the generosity of all my sponsers and backers in 2015/16 who helped me a great deal in preparing the 323ci. I am currently talking to all the sponsors with respect to continuing their support for 2016/17.

I am using The Just Giving Website to ask for your help in donating to help cure Motor Neuron Disease (MND) for The Heaton-Ellis Trust (Registered charity no. 1126534)

In for a new MOT
I am starting to get some work done on the new 330. It went into Lovell & Smiths for an MOT and flew through with 2 advisories which have now been sorted.

The car was again booked in the following week with Lovells for a full service. Unfortunately the day before the alternator decided to pack up. A new one will be  fitted with a new belt when its serviced.

I have also noticed the drivers side rear suspension is very low. Suspected spring failure. Next job on the list.

I am planning to upgrade all the brakes in the next month to Pagid discs and pads.

Thanks to Andy and the boys at Lovell & Smith Motor Services in Barton Le Clay for all their help & support for the up and coming Challenges.
I prefer the bonnet on the 323 because of the louvres so I am currently talking to Sam at Passfield Panel & Paint in Houghton Regis about taking the 323's bonnet and painting it in the 330's Topaz Blue.

September 11-13th last year (2015) was a brilliant 1st time experiece out on the Nurburgring. The Beemer drove superbly over to Germany from the UK.

The weather in Germany held out all weekend and the place was packed every day so much so on the Saturday it took ages to actually get out and drive on the circuit as the road was closed may times due to accidents.

The very first outing was a slow learning lap. It wasn't too bad of a run completing the 12.9 miles in about 12 minutes and the second run was a bit quicker. On Sunday the 13th (My 61st Birthday) I decided to get to the circuit earlier hoping it would be a bit quieter.

With not so many cars about I hit the circuit at about 10am and put the pedal to the metal. Not much quicker but overall my first experience of, as the great Jackie Stewart calls it "The Green Hell" was incredible.

Heres looking forward to doing it all again in 2016.
